THERE IS A BALM IN GILEAD

life-changingTHERE IS A BALM IN GILEAD

HEALED BY THE LIVING WORD OF GOD

“Sometime late last year, my son who is about one year old started having scrotal swelling. This could only be removed by surgery. My wife noticed it and showed it to me. I asked God for what should be done, and He instructed that I should keep anointing and declaring the word of God to it. I anointed it for seven days, but nothing happened. I went back to God, telling that nothing had happened, and He said, “keep declaring the word, and the Egyptians you see today, you shall see them no more.” My son’s condition became my first prayer point at Shiloh 2005. I also attached it to the violent sacrifice I made.

Behold, early this year, my wife told me that the swelling had disappeared. I checked it, and according to God’s word it had disappeared.

He is still in the business of healing today. Turn to Him for any ill-health and you will be surprised at His wondrous acts.

THE POTENCY OF GOD'S WORD

life-changingTHE POTENCY OF GODS WORD

I GOT EMPLOYED VIA HIS WORD

“I graduated from the university in August 2004, and since then I have been waiting on the Lord for a good job. I had not been doing anything, just sitting at home. But this year I took a very giant step; I went for June special WOFBI course (A theological course).

Since I finished my youth service, I have never been called for either an interview or test. In my first week at the Bible school, we were taught word foundation. The pastor told us that we should look for specific words in the Bible to back our problems.

That night I searched the Bible and found forty scriptures that addressed my situation, and I started praying with them. The nest morning, somebody called me at 6 a.m. to inform me of a bank test that was holding that day (a Saturday).

I went for the test, and on Monday I was called for an interview. I had series of interviews after the first one. On Saturday, I was with my uncle when I received a text message that said,
Congratulations! Come and receive your employment letter”. Miracles are still real.

JESUS CHRIST THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND FOREVER. Heb 13:8.

This testimony was given by one of our brothers; you too can key into his word and reap the dividends.

A SURE PROMISE

life-changingA SURE PROMISE (HEBREWS 6:13-20)

“For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, He swore by Himself”.Heb 6:13.

How sure is a promise? Why is it necessary to make a promise? And whose promise can you rely on?

Today, promise means different thins to different people. To some, it is a way of escape from trouble, while others may view it as a means of getting what you want. Many leaders in the world have promised and failed in the past while some are still failing. This is not unusual because of the flexibility of human mind.

The fact is that some people may not want to disappoint but the circumstances is just beyond them.

Sometimes a promise is secured by a handshake or two parties signing a real document as a guarantee to a contract. No matter the forms, the name and personality of those involve matter.

God Almighty also makes promises. He puts His name on the line. His promises are not hollow or shallow but are strong.

Even when a person is in an unconverted state and does not know God, the lord gives him opportunity to access His promises. By His grace and mercy, God sends the Holy spirit to convict lost soul. In Isaiah 1:18 “Come now and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as wool’.

God promises a life that is transformed not by any power but by the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, which was shed on Calvary.

Day after day, God has an exceeding great and precious promise for you and I. they are more than just words: they are more than contract but are rooted in the Bible.

God did that for Abraham (Gen 12:1-3) he did that for Noah (Gen 8; 21, Gen 9:9).He did it for Isaac (Gen 26:2) He did it for Jacob (Gen28:13, Gen 31:3).also for David (2sam 7;11, 2Chro 17:10). And Solomon (1kings 9,2Chro 1:7-12).if God can fulfill His promises to these people yours is next on the line.

No doubt, there may be troubles in your homes, business, career, etc.we live in a world full of storms but our God transcends all of them. His promises are enough to handle any situation. However, we all need to hang on to Gods promises. Imagine! What would have happened if the disciples had quit praying in the upper room on the day of Pentecost.
What if Naaman had only dipped 6 times as against seven? These people patiently endured like Abraham and they obtained the promise. You too will benefit in Jesus name.
Beloved, try as much as possible to fulfill your part of the agreement. God’s promises are for his sons and daughters because it is unjust to give children meat to dogs. Are you one of His sons and daughters?

SALTY CHRISTAIN PART II

life-changing SALTY CHRISTAINS Part II
“Ye are the salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13)

Today we shall continue from where we stopped in our previous discussion. Remember we were looking at the characteristics of a salty and savory Christian.Dont forget that we mentioned earlier that a believer is expected to live a holy life and to be outstanding in his or her community.

Thirdly, salt has seasoning, sweetening effect. The presence of adequate quantity of salt in any food makes it more palatable and delectable. Similarly, the presence of believers in the community ought to bring about peace, happiness, balance and harmony.

Fourthly, salt retains its seasoning characteristics while interacting with other ingredients. Believers must endeavor to keep themselves pure as they try to influence others (James 1:27).

Fifthly, salt prevents utter decay and corruption. The presence of believers in any society should drastically minimize corruption.
Sixthly, salt is useful only when it interacts and gets involved with other ingredients; it is useless if isolated in a bottle. The salty Christian does not snob others or closes his eyes to their plights.
Seventhly, salt transforms tasteless, insipid food into a desirable one. Believers ought to be channels of hope and encouragement to those who are hopeless and hurting.
Eighthly, salt has cleansing and healing effect on putrefying sores. Before the discovery of iodine and bacitracin, salt was used to cleanse wounds in order to facilitate quick healing. In the same way, believers presence in the world should help to facilitate speedy recovery for those who are spiritually wounded (backsliders and sinners).
Ninthly, salt penetrates and spreads good, irresistible influence on everything it touches. Similarly, salty Christians are not tribalistic or bigoted.
Besides, salt acts quietly but effectively without demanding attention. True believers demonstrate goodness without seeking to attract attention or popularity.
Finally, salt creates thirst for water. Likewise, the lifestyle of salty Christian constantly leads others to seeking the water of life.(Jesus).

SALTY CHRISTIANS

life-changingSALTY CHRISTAINS
“YE ARE THE SALT OF THE WORLD”….. (MATHEW 5:13).

From prehistoric times, salt has been an effective agent of preservation and seasoning. Today, its use has even expanded. It is now been used in dyeing and in the manufacture of soap and glass besides its wide use in some refrigeration process. Moreover due to their transparent nature, salt crystals are used for making the prisms and lenses of instruments used in the study of infrared radiation.

While delivering the Sermon on the Mount (in Math 5), Jesus pointed out that believers are the salt of the earth. They have been cleansed from their sins, and are following the Lord in sprit and in truth. But He also warned of the danger of losing their saltiness, savor or seasoning.

He used the practice of the disposal of useless salt at that time to illustrate His message. He went from the natural to the spiritual, from what they knew to what they did not know in teaching some vital lessons.

REVELATIONS AND UNDERSTANDING OF SALTY CHRISTAIN

When Christ says “ye are the salt of the earth” (Matthew 5;13), He implies that the world is like meat which has a tendency to putrefy and become polluted without proper preservation. Explaining this further, a renowned Bible commentator, says “mankind, lying in ignorance and wickedness were as vast as heap, ready to putrefy: but Christ sent forth His disciples: by their lives to season it with knowledge and grace’.

There are some certain striking characteristics of salt which Christ expects in every true believer. These characteristics are what make a believer salty and savory.

One, salt is pure and white. A believer is expected to live holily and blamelessly, both in words and in deeds.

Secondly, salt is different from all other ingredients. Believers are supposed to be outstanding and unique in their community. People around should be able to see something peculiar and distinctive in the lifestyle of every true Christian. TO BE CONTINUED.
